As a major national cultural tourism project, the Beijing Universal Studios Theme Park integrates Eastern and Western cultural elements, creating a diverse architectural and visually immersive landscape. Recently, the Phase I project of the theme park was honored with 10 Lu Ban Awards, making it the first large-scale theme park in China to receive this distinction and setting a precedent for a single park project to win multiple awards since the establishment of the Lu Ban Award. All nine general contractors involved in the construction were also recognized with the Lu Ban Award. Beijing International Resort Co., Ltd., as the project owner, was awarded for its outstanding achievements in cluster project management and high-quality execution, adding a remarkable highlight to the region’s high-quality development.
Warmframe Technology, as a partner of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the curtain wall insulation blanket system provider for Universal Studios, delivered comprehensive technical solutions for the exterior wall systems of this world-class theme park located in a cold climate zone. Warmframe’s solutions addressed energy efficiency, condensation prevention, and systematic thermal bridge design, meeting Universal Studios’ global standards for energy performance, indoor environmental comfort, health and safety, and durability.
The systematic technical solutions provided by Warmframe also enhanced the overall building performance, ensuring that the complex and diverse architectural systems of Beijing Universal Studios met and exceeded green, low-carbon, and sustainable development benchmarks. In recognition of these efforts, Universal Studios Beijing was awarded the first LEED Community Gold certification for a theme park worldwide by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) in 2021.
