On November 15, 2024, the “2024 Innovative Curtain Wall” Symposium, organized by the Hong Kong Façade Decoration Association, was successfully held at the Hong Kong Productivity Council Building in Kowloon. As a major annual event for the construction industry, the symposium brought together architects, industry experts, and technology leaders to explore how innovative technologies and design approaches can support the realization of net-zero buildings.

Against the backdrop of an intensifying global climate crisis, carbon emissions from the building sector have become a focal concern. Statistics indicate that the construction industry accounts for approximately 40% of global greenhouse gas emissions. To achieve sustainability and emission-reduction targets, urgent technological innovation is required across building design and construction. Centered on the theme “Pathways to Achieving a Net-Zero Built Environment,” the symposium aimed to identify innovative solutions and accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the building industry.
